Citizen's Fire Academy

The purpose of the Citizen’s Fire Academy is to increase awareness of both the emergency and non-emergency services provided by the Peters Township Department. This awareness should result in a greater understanding of our organizations, the financial and human resource needs, and the dedication required by career and volunteer firefighters.

Class FOrmat

With the health and safety of our first responders and class participants in mind, we will be delivering this course in a hybrid format in 2020. Classroom sessions will be conducted virtually via zoom, and practical portions will be scheduled in (2) separate groups on Sunday afternoons to allow for social distancing and proper sanitizing between group. Masks are mandatory during any in-person sessions.

Thank you for your interest in the Citizen's Fire Academy! Space is limited to 14 participants and will fill quickly. 

Requirements:

  • 16 years of age or older by the first class

  • A resident of Peters (non-residents will be considered if a full roster is not met)

Applications will be considered on the order in which they are received. A wait-list will be established for candidates not making the initial 14 spots.
